WOW! SOL Testing is complete, and I trust that your children did well on all of the tests. They are not allowed to discuss the test with each other or with me.
In Math, we will now work on some 6th grade skills found in chapter 9 of the textbook. It involves multiplying fractions by fractions, whole numbers, and mixed numbers, as well as an introduction to dividing by fractions. There will not be a test on this chapter, but there will be graded homework each night that will count toward the report card grade.
In Science, we will doing some fun activities that correspond to the unit we just finished on Living Things. We will use Mustang Meadows to look at living and non-living things, as well as looking at camouflage and skeletal systems. It will not involve any more notes or quizes, but will have some graded papers.
I really appreciate all that you did at home to help your children succeed this year. They are a terrific group of students with much potential for the future and I wish them well in their coming years! Thank you for everything!
