As a Speech and Language Pathologist (that’s what the SLP in the title means) I test students to evaluate their speech and language ability, and help those who need it become better at communicating with others.
Most people don’t know that speech, something we typically take for granted because it comes so easily and naturally for most people, is actually the most complicated physical activity human beings do.
Also, when people list things they are afraid of, the one thing which tops the list more often than anything else is fear of speaking before a group of people.
Because of these kinds of things, many people have difficulty with their speech, language use, or both. That is where I come in, helping those with speech and language difficulties become better at communicating.
