HELLO EVERYONE!!! Oh, my!!!! I've realized that keeping a web page going for the first time is very time consuming and I am sorry that things get on here so late!!! Next year I'll be better.....or maybe a parent can help me out!!???
Anyway.... We've been busy learning about Spring and its weather--how it effects the plants, the animals, the Earth, and us!!! We began the unit on "Living Things" by going to the Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh. Boy!!! Did we have FUN!!!!! We will put together our own classroom museum ("It's Alive Day") on Wednesday, May 16th from 8:30-10:00 am. Please return the sheet about what your child is bringing...it is due Friday, May 11th. I will be in touch with those parents who will need to accompany the larger animals (dogs,cats,etc.) All other living things should be brought in with the child in the morning. Plants are okay on the bus, but other live things are not!! You are welcome to stop by, but it is mainly for the children.
**Dates to Remember:
Field Days (Super Kids Day) is Tuesday, May 22nd from 11:30- 1:30. Come out to support our class!!
Raindate is Friday, May 25th from 9:30-11:30.
Thursday, May 24th is Letter Land People Parade/End of Year Celebration!!! We will march down K-1 hallway at 8:00am dressed as a letter person that we will draw out of a hat on Friday, May 11th. (26 kids, 26 letters of the alphabet!!! How perfect is that!!??) That gives you plenty of time to prepare for the parade. We hope to have all families represented at our "celebration" (following parade in Room 200 and lasting until 9:30am) as each student will receive an award!!!
On Tuesday, May 29th, please send your child to school with a bathing suit on, as we will have centers revolving around Summer activities. (I already have enough helpers for that day!!)
**If you plan to take your child out of school BEFORE 2:15pm on Wednesday, May 30th (the last day), YOU NEED TO LET ME KNOW....AND GIVE ME A SELF-ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPE FOR YOUR CHILD'S REPORT CARD!!! (I am not allowed to give them out before dismissal).
*** Thank You for returning all pictures and money...we won an ice cream party!!!
**Reminders:
"Relay for Life" donations are being collected in the classroom until Friday, May 18th, the weekend of the walk. We would love to win that PIZZA PARTY at the end of May!!!
