Dear Parents and Guardians, 12/11/09
Reading: Our target skill this week was text structure. We learned about how a story or an article is organized and why it is organized that way.
Math: We are learning our multiplication facts!!!! We will learn 2 or 3 new facts a week. We will make flashcards for the difficult facts. Students are taking one-minute timed tests and they must be able to answer 25 problems correctly in one minute!!!! SO they need to MEMORIZE the facts!!!! We are still moving on in the book and we are on Chapter 8 which is all geometry.
Science: We continued our Force and Motion unit.
Social Studies: Students are studying Native Americans.
Writing: We worked on our folktale writing from last week. We also began persuasive letters to the Grinch trying to convince him not to ruin the holidays this year!!!
Holiday Parties: Friday, December 18 at 1:45 Please come in and join the fun!!!!
Thanks to everyone that sent in money for Mrs. Baker!!! I will buy a gift card for her this weekend!!! THANKS!!!!!!
