Hello! You should expect to sign at least 4 progress reports for this 9 weeks. Please help us to better prepare your child for high school by making sure they are completing their homework and turning it in on time. All tests and quizzes are announced at least one week in advance. It is helpful for students to learn unit notes as they are given. (Only a few notes that correlate with the lesson are given at a time.) Benchmark results will be handed out this week. Please look at areas that still need to be strengthed and check reference textbook pages that should be studied to improve concept comprehension. I would suggest a little time each night going over these pages until your child improves understanding of nonmastered areas. Progress reports for Unit I should have been signed and returned. Unit 2 focuses on the structure and function of cell organelles. The unit test should be in approximately one week. Students can create a 3D model of a cell for extra credit. We have drawn and labeled the plant and animal cells. Homework assignments are section questions on page 67 and workbook pages 24-26. A second progress report was sent home on Thursday and Friday. Please look at assignments that your child has not completed and make sure these assignments are completed and turned in for me to grade. The Unit 2 Test will be Tuesday for B-Day students and Wednesday for A-Day students. Unit 3 will deal with how materials get into and out of a cell, cell reproduction, and heredity. Please feel free to call me at the school number (610-6000) or send me an email if you have any questions or concerns. Mrs. Bonnie Wilkes
