2012-2013 School Year
Well, we're back!!! The second half of the school year is underway. Wow! It seems like it the first half just flew by! I teach the math for all three classes, Mrs. Stepfanie Carter teaches the Reading/Language Arts for all three classes, and Mrs, Michelle Lambert teaches the science/social studies for the team.
My class theme is always "It's Up to You!" which stresses the importance of fifth graders taking personal responsibility for their actions, attitudes, and academics. Fifth grade is a special year and my hope is that each students always gives their "personal best." I have slightly changed the theme to be "IT IS Up to You!" to inlcude ITIS, which is the acronym for Indian Trail Intermediate School.

Below is my terrific homebase class for this first year at Indian Trail Intermediate School. They are a terrific bunch of kids. They seem to be a SUPER group. They start off each day with me for morning procedures, then stay with me for first block math. After lunch they then go to Reading/Language Arts with Mrs. Carter and then to finish the day in Science/Social Studies with Mrs. Lambert.

Fifth grade is a challenging year. Students need to be ready to move on to middle school by the end of the year and learning to take more responsibility is a major factor for continued success. I remind students often to "Make an Effort...not an excuse!"
