WELCOME TO AHS AND WORLD HISTORY I CLASS!
In World History I students will understand the development of world civilizations from the prehistoric era to 1500 A.D. Emphasis is placed on Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Asian cultural and geo-political contributions. Students will acquire an appreciation of the world's major religions. This course is an excellent precursor for World History II.
EXPECTATIONS:
1. Students will gain an appreciation for the study of world history and/or U.S. History by being prepared for class everyday.
2. The instructor will provide an atmosphere for learning,discussion,inquiry, and smiles.
3. Students will be given tools to be successful on the End-of-Course SOL Test.
INSTRUCTOR'S SCHEDULE:
1st Period - AP U.S. History 2nd Period - Conference/NTA 3rd Period - World History I Honors (Third Lunch) Fourth Period - World History I Honors Fifth Period - AP U.S. History
Students are responsible for reading the material and keeping up with the notes that are taken in class.
Test on Chapter 1 Prehistory will be the next day we meet. We will review first.
Map activity on Egypt and Mesopotamia coming.
