Accelerated Reader
What a program! Third, fourth and fifth graders have read nearly 9000 books and successfully passed more than 8,000 tests! Mrs. Barb James, our library aide, is now teaching second graders how to use the program. Soon, under her tutilage, even the first graders at WPE will be successful Accelerated Readers!
Texas Bluebonnet Reading Program
January 30th makes the end of the 2000 Texas Bluebonnet Reading Program. At WPE, 84 third, fourth, and fifth graders earned the right to vote for their favorite book. These outstanding readers have been given their Bluebonnet voter registration cards, which also allow them extra library privleges.
BOOK FAIR
A spring book fair will be held from March 28-April 4.
Profits will be used to buy more books and tests for the highly successful Accelerated Reader program. Volunteers are always needed and most welcome.
