Extra Credit

**To earn extra credit, students may read the books on the two lists below (Truman Award Nominees 08-09 and Mark Twain Award Nominees 08-09), and take an electronic test in the library. For every book read, students can take a 10 pt. quiz in the library. Students will earn the amount of points for extra credit that they earn as a quiz score (ex: student earns 8/10 on a quiz, and is given 8 points extra credit). In the case that there is no electronic quiz available for the particular novel a student has chosen, he/she may write a 1 1/2 + page paper discussing characters, setting, and summary of the novel.

Truman Books are generally for grades 6-9 and older. Eighth graders are generally on the cusp of moving from Mark Twain to Truman books, depending on their maturity and reading level.
