Objectives:
• Participants will be able to know how to use the interactive PPT slideshow in the classroom to promote FL learning.
• Participants will be able to know how to make an animated/interactive PPT file.
How I use the interactive PPT slideshow in my FLES classroom:
1. To introduce new information
Examples: Trees in four seasons, Numbers, Colors, Boy or Girl
2. To tell story
Examples: The hungry caterpillar, The seven blind mice
3. To review
Examples: my backpack, review month, review greeting and seasons
4. To teach song
Examples: Two tigers, the cats, Rainbow song
5. To play interactive fun games
Examples: Food pyramid, Animal Jeopardy
How I turn an ordinary PPT slideshow into an animated and interactive PPT:
1. Make the animation: Custom Animations
Add Effect: Entrance, Emphasis, Exit, Motion Paths
2. Play sound: Insert/Embedded
(a) Play the sound/music during slide transition: Transition sound
(b) Play the sound/music when an object/picture appear: Add Effect—Effect Options
(c) Play the sound when click on the object/picture: Action settings
