    Industry Trends Series - Free!

    Starting on September 17th, 2002, each Monday from 5:00 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. will feature a free presentation on either an open source technology industry or an e-learning sector trend.     e-Learning Design, Development and Management Certificate Program

    Students who take at least six of the e-Learning Beginners Series courses, at least 12 of the e-Learning FastTrack Series course for a combined total of 144 course hours, and who complete an e-learning practicum or project(approximately 56 hours) are eligible for the e-Learning Design, Development and Management Program Certificate. Participants in this program are also eligible for a discount on course fees ($3,950 CDN instead of the regular $7170 CDN).

    e-Learning Professional Advanced Certificate Program

    This is intended for new entrants to the e-learning sector who want a solid foundation as an e-learning professional, for existing educators who would like to expand their teaching skills into an online environment, and for existing web developers and multimedia professionals who would like to leverage their talents within the emerging e-learning sector. The program consists of 180 hours of classroom training, plus 20 hours of in-person and online professional development.

    The advanced e-learning certificate program will be team taught by four e-learning professionals specializing in business/project management, instructional design/pedagogy/andragogy, web-based course development, and programming/hardware. Numerous guest lecturers will also be included.

    The program is comprised of the following 30, 6-hour modules. The 20 hours of professional development training will focus on careers in the e-learning sector.

    Open Source Web Development & System Administration Certificate Program

    This program is intended for new entrants to open source web development and system administration, mainstream vendor focused developers wishing to expand their skills to an open source approach, and e-learning professionals wishing to develop a solid technical foundation. the program consists of 180 hours of classroom training, plus 20 hours of in-person and online professional development

    The certificate program will be team taught by four open source web development and system administration professionals specializing in business/project management, system administration, programming, and databases. A number of guest lecturers will also be included.

    Combined e-Learning Professional and Open Source Web Development and System Administration Advanced Certificate Program

    Students in the e-Learning Professional program that complete more than 60 hours of the Open Source Web Development and System Administration Program plus a final project qualify. Students in the Open Source Web Development and System Administration Program that complete more than 60 hours of the e-Learning Professional program plus a final project, also qualify.

    Many educational institutions, companies and other organizations are increasingly looking at open source options for their education and technology developments. This unique program provides the best of both programs and provides a valuable set of skills to those enrolled. The final project consists of developing an education related software tool, based on open source technologies.

    Executives Retreat & Workshop Best Practices Series

    Zoom e-Learning Networks is now accepting pre-registrations for the following executive series taking place in 2003 and 2004. All events take place in British Columbia, Canada. Locations are Quadra Island (an island in the Discover Passage off of Vancouver Island near Campbell River, a short flight from Vancouver) for Summer offerings and Whistler for Winter offerings (a two hour drive or short flight from Vancouver, BC). The format is to have between 2-4 workshop leaders and a maximum of 20 participants. The workshop leaders will be globally recognized experts in their workshop areas.

    This series is primarily designed for executives or senior managers wishing to gain leading edge insight into important e-learning business and technology trends and meaningful networking with other executives in a relaxed and luxury retreat setting. Spouses are welcome and tourism activities will be available. Because of the small course size, space is very limited and pre-registration is recommended as far in advance as possible.
