Career Pathways - Building Trades
Course Descrption
This nine week course will combine the skills of a Mason, Carpenter, and Plumber. Students will be taught block and brick layout, how to use the tools to spread mortar, leveling, plumbing, use of a straightedge, jointing brick and block in wall construction, corners, and piers. Students will build small projects to help them understand the tools and machines of the carpentry trade. Hand machine woodworking, wood finishing, and small construction projects will be emphasized. Students will learn various pipe dimensions, cut copper tubing, solder joints, and rough-in water supply for various fixtures.
