Annie Chien has been a high school biology teacher for the past 11 years. Her experience has always been in urban education, focusing on technology and designing curriculums that fosters student research and inquiry. Annie also enjoys training aspiring science teachers in the classroom and collegiate setting, and published works on inquiry based science. In 2003, Annie was award the Innovative Educator of the Year by the Bertelsmann Foundation, and was featured as a model educator on several professional development programs including the Coalition for Essential Schools and the Teacher's Network in New York City. Annie is a graduate of Barnard College with a background in Biology, Psychology and Education. She received her graduate degree from New York University, focusing in Technology Education.
