About me
¡Hola! I've loved learning Spanish since I started in 7th grade, so it was always clear to me that I would share my enthusiasm with others by becoming a Spanish teacher. My undergraduate degree is from Penn State University (Go Lions!) where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. I continued on to earn my teacher certification and Masters in Education degree from East Stroudsburg University. Upon graduation I spent an extended summer semester studying at La Universidad de Salamanca in Salamanca, Spain, one of the best experiences of my life!

I started here at EHS in March of 1995 when I filled in for Sra. Torres, who was on maternity leave. I then taught at Nazareth High School for 5 1/2  years, but left to be closer to my (then) infant daughter. I came back to EHS for 1 1/2 years until I left for my own maternity leave. During my time at home with my children, I spent a few years teaching at Penn State Lehigh Valley, and also enjoyed teaching district Community Education classes. Finally, I ended up back here at EHS in 2005.

I love to travel and learn about other cultures! With students, I've traveled to Spain and Costa Rica. With my family, I've also been to Puerto Rico and La República Dominicana. When I am not here teaching Spanish, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my family and friends. I have a wonderful husband (we've been married for 11 years), and my daughters are students at Shoemaker. When I find free time, I love to read, play and make art with my girls, garden, go to the beach, go shopping with my mom and sisters, or just relax at home. I also enjoy going to art museums and eclectic restaurants and I love taking pictures of my family and friends.

I consider myself a lifelong learner so I plan to further my education by pursuing a Masters in Spanish degree. I also plan to study Italian and keep on learning about language and cultures. My dream is to someday travel and take pictures (and eat!) through Spain and Italy with my family.
