I have had the privilege of teaching at ECISD for 39 years. I began teaching in the fall of 1972. I taught in junior high four years, then I went to high school for 23 years. In 2000 I began teaching again at the junior high & intermediate schools. I am certified to teach English, Speech & Theatre Arts.
I have coached high school UIL Prose & Poetry, Persuasive & Informative Speaking, Lincoln-Douglas debate, C-X debate, and One-Act Play. At the Junior High level, I have coached 7th & 8th grade Modern Oratory & 8th grade Oral Reading. I have also coached 6th, 7th & 8th grade Dictionary Skills. At the Intermediate level, I have coached 6th grade Oral Reading. I have also served as UIL Coordinator at the high school level, and I am currently serving as high school one-act play contest manager.
I've been privileged to have some of the most talented kids in Texas involved in UIL competition; my students have competed at zone, district, area, regional and state competitions many times over the years. I feel very blessed to have been associated with them.
It's been such a fun ride that it is very hard to believe that it's been 39 years! |
