I am a 1994 graduate from TCS and a 1998 graduate of Asbury College. I started teaching Kindergarten at TCS in 1999 until our son was born in 2002. I have worked part time for the Caleb department and have been blessed to be at home with Colin (9), Camdyn (6), and Caris (3) for the past 9 years. I believe that the Lord is directing me back to the classroom and I am excited that my adventure will continue at TCS.

Homework:
I did not send a homework sheet home before spring break. the last one was due on 3-23. The next one will come home on Tuesday 4-10. It will be due on Monday 4-16. Hope that helps clear things up!
SAT testing is going well. The children are working hard and I feel that will show. We will continue the testing next week on Tuesday through Thursday. I am using the mornings to test and then in the afternoon we are doing our Rainforest studies or centers or other hands on activities. I do not want to push too hard but remember that it is IMPERATIVE that they get a great night of sleep, a great breakfast and a snack that will provide energy for the brain. They can have mints or gum that is mint flavor as well. Thanks for your prayers.
Rainforest Raucous… We have begun our study of the Rainforest and we are enjoying the process. The packet of information for the project is in your Thursday Folder. Please read it carefully. The animal that your child chose is located at the top of the first page of the packet. The permission slip for the Cleveland Zoo is also in the Thursday folder. Please complete it and send it in A.S.A.P. This is a really cool project and the more energy you put into the learning, will encourage your child to get excited also!
Next Week’s Highlights Social Studies: We are working our way through Ch. 6: How Goods are made and brought to the U.S. Math: We will finish up our S.A.T.’s and begin Topic 16. Reading Workshop: We will be doing “fun” reading to help us unwind from S.A.T.’s. Writing Workshop: We are getting ready to work on our Young Author books. We are also doing some journal entries. Bible: We are enjoying some devotionals that talk about how we have strength through Gods help. Science: We have begun our Rainforest Unit! We are tracking the growth of our seeds and this week we learned what the 4 layers of the Rainforest are and what kinds of animals live in the Rainforest. They have chosen their animals for the project.
