Dear Parents,
I cannot believe how quickly the end of the year is coming! I am so encouraged by the progress the children have made this year academically, socially, emotionally and physically (they are growing like weeds lately)! I feel tremendously blessed to have been given such wonderful families to serve.
As you have probably noticed, we are very busy from now until they end of the year with “secret projects,” special days, and celebrations:
Donuts for Dads and Muffins for Moms will be the next 2 Fridays, the 4th and 11th, respectively. Please note that the posted time is during morning drop off, from 7:45-8:15am. I have talked with the children extensively and they understand that if daddy or mommy is unable to attend, the donuts and muffins will be sent home along with their “top secret project” so you can celebrate at home!
Summer Birthday Bash will be Friday, May 18th unless you have otherwise arranged with me. If your child has a summer birthday and you would like to bring something in to help us celebrate, please let me know, so that I can coordinate treats, juices, goody bags, etc.
Sticker Chart Party will be Wednesday, May 16th if we have filled our chart by then. I have planned for it to be a Popsicle party! We will have outdoor centers like painting and sidewalk chalk as well (weather permitting) for that day. I have been on the lookout for excellent class choices and we have earned two stickers just today. We only need 12 more, so we are well on our way!
Goofy Game Day will be Monday, May 21st. We are hoping to run 10 stations, with at least 1, preferably 2, parents to run each station. Stations will include sandbox, bubbles, tricycles, etc. with an ice cream social to conclude. We need as many volunteers as we can get so if you are available from 8:30-11:30, please sign up ASAP! Afternoon care will be available.
Year-End Celebration will be Tuesday, May 22nd. Festivities will take place in the old gym from 11:00-noon. We will have a short program and refreshments. Afternoon care will be available.
Picnic at the Park will be Wednesday, May 23rd. This will be our LAST DAY of school. Please read closely: All families who attend must meet at Walbridge Park at 9:00 am, bring sack lunches, and stay until noon, when our school day will end. NO AFTERNOON CARE WILL BE PROVIDED AND PARENTS MUST STAY FOR THE MORNING. CHILDREN CANNOT BE DROPPED OFF!
