I am so glad that you found our class website. This is my 10th year teaching kindergarten at Pope John XXIII Catholic School. I received my BS in Special Education from Illinois State University in 1979. I taught hearing impaired children for close to 12 years before my husband took a transfer to Arizona.
When I arrived in Arizona, I stayed home to raise 2 boys, volunteering in the schools whenever and wherever I could. I was blessed to have been offered a teaching position at Pope John XXIII back in 1999.
I completed my master's degree in Elementary Education with a Reading Specialist endorsement in August 2008 (from NAU! Go Lumberjacks!) In addition, I hold endorsements in Early Childhood and Structured English Immersion. I LOVE graduate school - and I cannot wait to pick out a new field of study! Right now, it is a toss up between Educational Leadership and Special Education: Advocacy.
I have been married to my husband, Tom, for over 20 years! Tom works for a major wireless corporation. We have two amazingly, wonderful boys. John is 20, attends college in Vermont where it is MUCH cooler. Dan is 16 and attends a special education high school.
