I graduated from Lincoln High School in 1982 and Fairmont State College in 1986 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Vocational Home Economics. I taught in Giessen, Germany for 3 years for the Department of Defense and then taught from 1989-1993 at Clay County High School. After returning home to Harrison County, I began teaching at Lumberport Middle School in 1994. In 2005, I received a Masters degree in Educational Technology Leadership through Salem-Teikyo University. I have been an instructor for the Phase 9 program for the EdVenture Group and teach TOC classes at Lincoln High School. In 2007, I became a National Board Certified Teacher. I have been affiliated with FSU GEAR UP since 1999. Currently, I am serving as the GEAR UP FACE Coordinator for Lincoln High School. This year I received my Technology Integration Specialist certfication. I have three sons, Mark, Mason, and Mathew and I'm married to Jeff Kerns.
