In August of 2013 will be 5 years that I have been at SHS. It has been a wonderful experience to have started my dream of teaching Spanish at Sprayberry. The FL Dept. is wonderful and without their help and support I wouldn't have been able to make it. One of the things that attracted me the most to Sprayberry is the methodology of teaching Foreign Languages. We're different in the sense that we make learning another language fun. We make it fun in the way that we use TPRS (Total Proficiency Through Reading and Storytelling) We make our students learn through comprehensible input by acting stories, and by sharing their personal experiences and interests. We utilize the stories and emerge them into activities by reading, writing, listening and speaking. We also have a wide variety of cultural stategies which make our students go above and beyond the standards of learning. |
