About me
I was born in Riceville, Iowa, a small town in northern Iowa.  The School Sisters of Notre Dame were my teachers for 12 years at St. Mary's School in New Haven, Iowa.

When I graduated from high school I entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Mankato, Minnesota.  After years of training I taught grades one-eight in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota.  During the summers I volunteered at the Oneida Reservation near Green Bay, Wisconsin as well as at a home for mentally, emotionally and physically challenged teenagers in Freeport, Illinois.

I have a B.A. from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee and a M.Ed. from Holy Names College at Fort Wright in Spokane, Washington. I am licensed to teach elementary classes in Arizona and I have an early childhood endorsement.

After being an SSND for twenty-five years I spent seven weeks in Germany, East Germany and Italy in a renewal program and an educational journey seeing the foundations of our religious community.

In l981 I was privileged to spend seven weeks in Kyoto, Japan, with our School Sisters of Notre Dame helping as needed in our college, high school and grade school. I was given many social opportunities in the Japanese cultural activities.

Now I am one of the first grade teachers at St. Theresa's Catholic School in Phoenix, Arizona.  This is my third year here and it is exciting to begin again in a new school year. I have been teaching grades one-eight for 46 years.
