SPANISH LANGUAGE PLACEMENT TEST - GWU - NOT VALID FOR WAIVERS. THIS INCLUDES DEPARTMENTAL FOREIGN LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS SUCH AS ENGLISH, HISTORY, ANTHROPOLOGY, ETC.

The average time to complete this exam is ONE HOUR. Exams taken in less than 20 minutes will be considered invalid. You can take this test only once. If two different scores appear for the same student, the one dated earlier will be the only valid one, and used to place you in a Spanish class. Do not start it until you can set aside at least one hour for it. DO NOT GUESS your way through the difficult questions. Instead, leave questions blank. Guessing will inflate your score, which will result in inadequate placement.

This Placement Test has three parts:
1. Section I: Grammar (60 questions)
2. Section II: Vocabulary (40 questions)
3. Section III: Functional knowledge (40 questions)
