Writing HALLOWEEN Leads and Using the Quote + Transition Journalistic Style of Writing - Hooking Your Reader
Using the information, write a brief for #1 and #2. Remember that the where and when are not the most important part of a lead and most likely will NOT hook your reader. Leads should be colorful, descriptive and complete. But, they need to be limited to one main idea and wordiness (redundancy) should be avoided. No paragraph should be over 40 words. Make sure you write complete sentences, but avoid the EXTRA words such and then, etc. Use paragraphs to separate quotes. Use transitional paragraphs to describe the event or story.
