The poet James Berry combines the English language (from Great Britian) with his Native Carribean Language in this poem called BLACK KID IN A NEW PLACE.

I'm here, I see
I make a part of a little planet
here, with some of everybody now.

I stretch myself, I see
I'm like migrant bird
who will not return from from here.

I shake out colorful wings.
I set up a palmtree bluesky
here, where winter mists were.

Using what time tucked in me, I see
my body pops with the dance.
Streets break out in carnival.

Rooms echo my voice. I see
I was not a migrant bird. I am
a transplanted sapling, here, blossoming.
