POETRY TIMED QUIZ
Read the poem below and answer the four questions that follow. YOU ONLY GET ONE TRY and the clock is running! The poet James Berry combines the English language (from Great Britian) with his Native Carribean Language in this poem called BLACK KID IN A NEW PLACE. I'm here, I see I make a part of a little planet here, with some of everybody now. I stretch myself, I see I'm like migrant bird who will not return from from here. I shake out colorful wings. I set up a palmtree bluesky here, where winter mists were. Using what time tucked in me, I see my body pops with the dance. Streets break out in carnival. Rooms echo my voice. I see I was not a migrant bird. I am a transplanted sapling, here, blossoming.
