You are expected to complete the test within ONE hour. Do not leave in the middle of the test.
1. Answer the questions from Item 1-7.
2. Do Item 8 (provide pinyin)
3. Items 9-13 are reading passages. Pick at least two that are close to your current level and translate them into English WITHOUT CONSULTING THE DICTIONARY . Since this is for placement purposes, rough translation is acceptable.
4. Item 14 is for a short essay. For best result, we recommend that you complete this essay to the best of your ability. If you don't know how to type Chinese or pinyin, you can send us your essay in PDF via email.
5. If you have problem submitting the test (e.g. error massage), you can type your answers separately in a Word document or text pad and email it instead.
Important for all testees
1) When you are done, please email Prof. Zhang at zhang@gwu.edu so that your test will be reviewed in a timely manner.
2)You are responsible for checking your account within three days for our recommendation, which will appear in the Comments under Question 1. Please ignore the score displayed in the result. The score is for our reference only. If you have any problem accessing your results, let us know.
