Lesson 24 - Wendy's Recital
Wendy stood backstage and peeked through a crack in the curtain. The auditorium was almost full. Lots of people had driven through the snowstorm to hear Mrs. Engel's students play the piano. Suddenly, Wendy heard Mrs. Engel say, "Our first pianist is Wendy Chang!" "That's me!" she thought, and she hurried onstage. Her heart was pounding. She bowed to the audience. Then she sat in front of the keys. Her hands felt cold and stiff. But when she played the first note, she felt her whole body relax. Then she knew she would do just fine.
