"Hasty Departures" OR Writing about lyrics for "The WW1 Christmas Truce"

In Anne Frank's Diary, she and her family have to leave their home abruptly. Departures that are abrupt can be disruptive. Departures in our lives may be abrupt but are hopefully not nearly so disruptive. Nonetheless, they make for good writing. Write a piece of 300+ words where you describe a departure. See the expectations and examples below. The examples are written by Anne Frank and a Discovery student below.
