Remember the rules we learned:

*** You double the consonant before adding -ed or -ing if the following 3 things are true:

1. The word is only ONE syllable
2. The vowel has a short sound
3. A SINGLE consonant follows the vowel.

Example: win

****Drop the "e" on words that have a long vowel, before adding -ed or -ing.
