4th Grade Reading Comprehension (Set 5) - George
_____George is about eight inches tall. She is the biggest grasshopper I’ve ever seen. She lives in our backyard. It’s a bit unusual to have a grasshopper in your backyard when you live in a 24-floor apartment building in Chicago. _____When I come home from school, I go around to the backyard and say hello to George. _____George is very smart. She has talent. She can dance and make music. I don’t know how she does it: she just does. When I visited George this afternoon, she had invented her own little set of drums. She had gathered some stones, a stick, and a small metal disk from a can. She put it all together and started to play. _____“Hey, George, I never knew you could play the drums.” _____“Oh, I thought you knew I was in the Giant Grasshopper Band.” _____“In the Grasshopper Band? You mean there are other grasshoppers like you?” _____“Oh, yeah. There’s a whole city of us called Grasshopper City.” Do you believe this story?
