STAGE 6: PICKING THE SUBJECT

These sentences, similar to ones we did in class, are missing their subject. Look carefully at the verb in the sentence. Then pick the word that could be its subject.

1. Remember 1st person present tense verbs end in -o.
We don't know 1st person for imperfect or perfect tenses yet.

2. Remember 2nd person present tense verbs end in -s.
We don't know 2nd person for imperfect or perfect tenses yet.

3. Remember 3rd person verbs of all 3 tenses end in -t (singular) and -nt (plural). Even perfect tenses ending (-it & --erunt) end in -t and -nt.

4. Remember a singular verb requires a singular subject; a plural verb requires a plural subject.
