Before I came into this class, I felt that I was:
*
Completely prepared to write an essay for the AP Latin test
well prepared to write in general, and ready for the challenge
coming with a weak background in writing
not knowing what to do with an essay prompt
My first experience with writing an essay in this class (about Amores 1.1 or 3.15) was:
*
pretty impressive
confusing- I didn't know how to structure my ideas
frustrating - how am I supposed to use the Latin if I don't know it?
a disaster
What I found most helpful in determining the best method of writing an essay for the Latin AP test was
*
through the sample "good" essay
more and more practice with free response prompts
the article on effective essay writing (literal to analytical)
the essay workshop which Mrs. Hudec presented
Where do I need to improve from here to feel more confident as we approach the AP exam?
*
More practice prompts
more short answer prompts on tests
another writing workshop with sample questions and interactive discussion
What practice? I'm ready!
If I could give one honest, helpful comment to help the curriculum of the Latin AP course, it would be:
