    I do not use e-mail.

    I do not use technology to find information.
    I can find information from electronic sources such as CD ROMs or Web sites.
    I select, gather, and save information from multiple electronic sources to answer a thinking question.
    I access, select, analyze, and use appropriate information that I find efficiently using electronic sources, Web sites, search engines, and Boolean operators such as "and", "or", and "not."


  1. Multimedia
    I do not use multimedia to find or present information.
    I can use other people's multimedia products such as Encarta or Grolier's Encyclopedia.
    I can create multimedia presentations combining text with graphics sound using programs such as Powerpoint, Freelance Graphics, or Hyperstudio.
    I can design an effective multmedia presentation employing animation,transitions, video, sound, text, and graphics to share ideas.


  1. Internet Use
    I do not use the Internet.
    I visit Internet sites and successfully navigate using Back, Forward, and Home buttons.
    I can search the nternet using search engines such as Alta Vista, Lycos, and Excite.
    I can find pertinent information quickly using search engines and Boolean logic to narrow my search


  1. Web Development
    I do not create Web pages.
    I create simple Web pages using Page Composer, Page Mill, or Front Page.
    I create multimedia Web pages that include sound, animation, video, pictures, and text using Web development software and/or original code.
    I create and manage a Web site that includes multimedia Web pages that serve my school and parents through interactive information and instructional services.


  1. Technology Presentation
    I do not use technology to create or present information.
    I use a variety of sources (CD's, clip art, Web sites, or paint software programs) to import pictures or sound into a publishing program for a presentation.
    I combine two or more technologies (digital camer, scanner, laser disk, DVD) to create or present information.
    I can select and use the appropriate technology combination to create and present a multimedia message using computers, peripherals, projectors, and multimedia software.


  1. Technology Integration
    I do not blend the use of computer-based technologies into my classroom learning activities.
    I want to integrate technology into classroom activities, but I am still learning about what strategies will work and how to do it.
    I sometimes encourage my students to use various technologies to support communicating, data analysis, and problem solving.
    I frequently model and teach my students to use various technologies for research, communication, data analysis, and problem-solving, and presentation.

    I do not use the Lotus Notes databases for AKS, lesson plans, and item banks.
    I use Lotus Notes databases as a reference tool to look up AKS information.
    I use Lotus Notes databases to plan instruction and assessment of the AKS.
    I contribute AKS lesson plans and item bank questions to the Lotus Notes databases.


  1. Responsible Use of Technology
    I do not understand what responsible use means.
    I take care of the equipment and leave it ready for the next user.
    I understand and follow District rules concerning harassment, language, passwords, copyright, privacy, and appropriate use of resources, etc.
    I model responsible use of computers, resources, policies, etc. and teach others.


  1. Video Production
    I do not use video technology.
    I use video technology to record events for or with my students.
    I teach my students how to produce videos for alternative assessments or for media festivals.
    I produce videos that include edited footage, graphics, multiple sound tracks, transitions, and music and teach others.


  1. Satellite Resources
    I do not use satellite delivered programming in my classroom.
    I sometimes view prerecorded or live satellite programs such as Wishbone, Salsa, Reading rainbow, or curriculum specific programs with my students.
    I routinely check programming guides and select and view satellite programming that I use for instruction and professional development.
    I have scheduled and/or participated in live satellite teleconferences supported with fax, phone, and/or Internet.


  1. Videoconferencing
    I do not use or participate in videoconferencing.
    I have participated in a videoconference for a class or special event in a group classroom such as a GSAMS site or through a desktop videoconferencing system.
    I have developed and/or taught a class using videoconferencing technology connected to one or multiple sites.
    I have developed and used videoconferencing opportunites in my classroom or lab using a computer, phone lines/network connections, camera and software such as CU-SEEME, or Net Meeting. I model teaching through videoconferencing technology and teach others.


  1. Professional Development
    I do not take technology staff deveelopment classes or training.
    I enroll in local school and system wide staff development classes.
    I collaboratively plan technology staff development opportunities. I mentor other teachers and share technology integration strategies.
    I develop and teach staff development that focuses on technology integration and student achievement. I work with the technology team at my school to assist other teachers acquire technology skills. I attend conferences to learn best practices in technology integration.
