Genetic Engineering Survey
Genetic engineering is when scientists change the DNA of a person, animal, or plant. This survey will ask for your opinions on different aspects on genetic engineering.

- Gene therapy is the practice of changing the genes of a person with a disease (like cancer) to treat their disease. However, while much is known about gene therapy, the long term effects (what will happen to people who have had it in the future) are still unknown. Does gene therapy sound like something good, or something we should continue using to treat diseases?
- Pregnant women can chose to have their babies screened for genetic disorders, mental illnesses and other things. Is this a good thing? What could be potential drawbacks?
- In the not so distant future, parents may be able to decide what color eyes or hair they want their children to have. They also might be able to decide if they want their kids to excel in sports or other activities. Is this a good thing?
- Scientists are figuring out a way for humans to regrow organs (sort of like how lizards can regrow their tails if something happens to them) and that might allow people to live for twice as many years as they already do. So instead of living until you were 80, you could live to be 160. Is this a good thing? What could be some potential drawbacks?
- Do agree with this statement?: Changing some one or something's DNA is morally wrong
- Assuming you follow a particular religion, how does genetic engineering sound to you on a religious level? Do you think it goes against what your holy book says? Or do you feel like it's a good idea and could help people?
- What'd you think about this survey?
