E-learning Readiness Self-Assessment Test
The following checklist is a self-administered, self-scored tool to help you decide if you are ready for online or hybrid course work.
To use the checklist, simply answer "YES" or "NO" to each of the statements listed.
Be as honest with yourself as you can, and decide for yourself if online education is for you.

- Online courses are NOT "blow off courses. They require you to actively participate and engage with your classmates and the instructor 3 to 4 times per week. Submissions to discussions, homework, and other assessments are what count for attendance in online courses. Online courses require you to dedicate about 8-10 hours per week per 3 credit hour course (just like that in a seated classroom). With your current schedule such as school, work, extra curricular activities. etc., can you realistically complete the required time and work to successfully complete an online course with a C grade or higher? If not, you should use the drop/add time during the first week of classes to change the course to an on campus class or to drop it all together. We want you to be successful, but if you realistically don't have the time to complete your course work and actively engage in the course we know it's highly unlikely that you will. If you have questions about this, please contact someone in eLearning at NCCC. 716-614-6798.
