As you can see from the table below, the Pacific Ocean is the largest ocean. It is equal in size to the other three oceans combined. It is also the deepest ocean, with an average depth of 3940 m(about 12,925 ft). The Atlantic Ocean is the shallowest, with an average depth of only 3580 m (about 11,745 ft). Much of the surface of the Arctic Ocean, the smallest ocean, is covered with ice all year round. In ocean areas near Antarctica, the surface water freezes for at least part of the year.
