What are "Question" Poems?

 

Question poems consist of a list of questions that may or may not have answers.  Sometimes the questions are serious, and sometimes they are silly.  It is usually a poem about wondering.

 

EXAMPLE -------------------------------------------------

 

This is a question poem that wonders about how to achieve happiness.  The author wonders if there is any way to feel better.

Directions:

 

1. Decide on an interesting topic/theme for your poem. Your question poem will wonder aboutÉ ___________________________________. 

This is your poem title!

 

Hint: You may start your title with: why, how, does, when, where, or any key word that questions.

 

2. Ask questions that relate to your topic and which capture the readerÕs attention. These should make you think!

 

3. Ask your self Ð ÒAre my questions clear?Ó ÒDo they make the reader think about my topic?Ó ÒDo they vary in scope?Ó ÒAre they complex?Ó

 

4. Type and add your poem to your presentation.

     Requirements:

     *Poem has title question

*Minimum of 6 sentences/questions

     *Appropriate graphics that match theme

     *Poem questions are all different

      *No misspellings! No fragments!

 

Note: This poem does not have to rhyme! It just has to have thoughtful questions.
