Parts of Speech Review

You can use this game to test yourself with flashcards or a game of memory. Images are from Microsoft Clip Art (with the exception of the picture of Sam and the flower, those are mine) and edited with picnik.

Noun, Person, place, thing, or idea
Proper Noun, A specific name for a noun. Always capitalized. Ex. Sam
Pronoun, takes the place of a noun Ex. He, I, me, you, they, we
Action Verb, shows action: either mental or physical
Linking Verb - The puppy IS tired., links a noun to describing words. Ex. The puppy is tired. (Hint: Is the puppy AM-ing? No.)
Adjective, describes (modifies) a noun or pronoun. Ex. It was a YELLOW flower.
Adverb, describes (modifies) a verb, adjective, or adverb. Usually end in -ly.
Conjunction, help join words, phrases, and clauses Ex. FANBOYS, because, if, so
Preposition, show the position of an object in a sentence. Ex. OVER the rainbow, AT the end OF the rainbow.
Interjection, show emotion. Usually have an exclamation point after it. Ex. WOW! Oh no!
