Matching anti-anginal generic and trade names
These medications can be used to treat/prevent chest pain. Classifications include nitrates, Beta blockers, and calcium channel blockers (CCB). You will recognize the last two classifications from the anti-hypertensive drug practice! Remember to look for similar generic name endings (olol for Beta Blockers, dipine for CCBs) and clues in the trade names! Verapimil and dilatizem are older CCB drugs. Use the phrase A VERY FINE DRUG: V is for verapimil and D is for diltizem. Use the -ine in Fine to remind you of "dipine". Now you are equipped to recognize a large number of CCBs!
