| Insertion Point | The vertical blinking bar on the screen shows where Word will insert typed text and pasted items. |
| Typing Text | Word is set by default to "insert" textwhich means you can type anywhere in the document and Word moves any existing text or the insertion point to the right. |
| Deleting Text | Press the (Delete key) to delete one character at a time to the right of the cursor. Press the (Backspace) key to delete one character to the left at a time. |
