Conjugation Practice: Dictionary Forms
Study the following rules first, and then play the games provided below.
2 Irregular Verbs:
kimasu --- kuru, shimasu --- suru
2 types Regular Verbs:
(a) Vowel Verbs:
(1) Usually, when the verb has '-e' before 'masu' --- change 'masu' to 'RU';
for example, tabEmasu --- tabERU
(2) Usually, when the verb has '-i' but one syllable before 'masu' --- change 'masu' to 'RU';
for example, mImasu --- mIRU
(b) Consonant Verbs
(1) Usually, when the verb has any Consonant + "i" before 'masu'
--- keep the same consonant and change '- imasu' to 'U';
for example, kiKImasu --- kiKU, hanaSHIMASU --- hanaSU, maCHImasu --- maTSU, noMImasu --- noMU, oyoGImasu --- oyoGU etc.
