Food Idioms

Idioms are expressions you hear every day. Their meanings are often hard to figure out from looking at each word separately. For example, "I won't "put up with that!" doesn't make much sense if you look at each word by itself, but most of us know that we're in trouble if we hear it. Someone doesn't like what we're doing and isn't going to "put up with it!" That's when we know we'd better "shape up" (another idiom!) if we're going to stay out of trouble. Have fun matching these idioms with their meanings.

If you find yourself in "hot water" - unable to match an idiom to its definition, remember that there's a set of flashcards that will tell you the definitions. Have fun!
