Article XII - TRANSFER/REASSIGMENT
This article describes the procedures for voluntary and involuntary transfers/reassignments. District policy regarding vacancies and posting of vacancies is covered. The procedures for "buying preps" when enrollment growth necessitates the addition of class sections are defined.
Voluntary transfer request may be made at any time, regardless of whether there is a current vacancy posted. Requests need to be renewed year-to-year. Guidlines for granting transfer/reassingment requests are listed. If a request is denied the unit member can request the reasons for the denial in writing.
Involuntary Transfer/Reassignments are basically at the discretion of the district with due regard for the member. If you are affected by an Involuntary TR you shall be given 10 working days notice and may request a conference to discuss the reasons for T/R. If you are not satisfied with the reasons for the transfer you may initiate a grievance beginning at Level II. (pg. 49, A)
*District will maintain salary for duration of current contract in case an involuntary TR would result in loss of compensation

*Member may request District assistance in moving materials and personal belongings.
*No individual shall be Involuntarily T/R more than once in three years except for school closures, program reduction and/or elimination and grade level shifts.
Article XIII -- SUMMER SCHOOL AND ADULT EDUCATION
Summer school openings shall be posted at each school by May 1. Details for the posting of adult ed. teaching positions are defined and are the criteria for filling vacancies.
Initial summer school assignements shall be made no later than two weeks before the start of the summer school session
