Article XVII - TRAVEL
Self-explanatory, see page 67.
Article XVIII - SAFTEY
This article covers the district's policies and responsibilities to provide for safe working and learning environments. Employees are to report unsafe conditions to their immediate supervisors and shall not be required to work under unsafe or hazardous conditions.
District policy relating to support and assistance with respect to discipline and control of the classroom, physical restraint of students, attacks or threats committed against unit members are also covered in this section, beginning on page 68.
Article XIX - SCHOOL CALENDAR
District will consult with Association regarding calendar.
Article XX - MISCELLANEOUS PROVISIONS
This is actually a rather important little article in that the District agrees to provide each employee with a copy of the Master Agreement. This is easy to take for granted, until you realize that it has not been done. Veteran teachers need to make sure that new and probationary teachers have a contract and are familiar with its contents. Employees should be provided with a copy of their contract upon their initial employment, when a new contract becomes effective, or upon request of the unit memebr.
Article XXI - SAVINGS
Beginning on page 72, I have no idea what this means.
Article XXIII - PEER ASSISTANCE AND REVIEW
This is a lengthy article relating to the PAR program and elements of BTSA as they exist in SUSD. If you are involved with PAR or BTSA you should be familiar with this article, which begins on page 73.
