Course Descriptions

This course explores various types of software available for more efficient business and personal management.  It covers the use of word processing software and hardware, and incorporates specific applications.  It covers the principles of the electronic spreadsheet, specific applications of spreadsheet models, and the practical applications of spreadsheet use.

Course Objectives

The purpose of this course is to familiarize the students with the basic concepts of word processing and the use of an electronic spreadsheet.

Class Activities will focus on lessons focused in the classroom or from practice exercises in the textbooks. Four or more absences will result in a grade of failure or "F".

Midterm will focus on materials covered in the first half of the semester.

Quizzes will be announced or unannounced, they will focus on review.

Final Portfolio is the final assessment.  You must be able to demonstrate what you have learned throughout the course.  You will design a portfolio that you could present to a company of your choice.   You will focus on the techniques learned in Microsoft Word and EXCELL.  The area of interest is your personal choice.
