The City of Brisbane Safety is the condition of being safe from undergoing or causing hurt, injury, or loss.

This is the web page for the City of Brisbane Safety Program.

The city building safety inspections that started October 1, 2000 are still in progress during November.  We are delayed by personnel shortages, but we expect to complete the inspections by November 15, 2000.  The next process in the semi-annual inspection program is to fix the safety hazards that were identified. Safety has improved because inspections work!

Brisbane City Employees who have safety concerns may notify the Safety Director of any work place safety issue.  The Brisbane Safety Program is designed to prevent accidents and injuries so help us find the problems that need attention.  We want your input. If you have a suggestion, please contact "Mac" at the Brisbane FD.

If you are a city employee of Brisbane and wish to request a special training topic related to safety for your job classification, send the request to "Mac".  We have access to the National Resource Safety Center video library that has current safety training video's.  If you want to review the reference guide, I have it at the fire station.

If you have any safety material that you believe should be set up in a safety quiz or brought into our training program, send the information to "Mac".

The Defensive Driving training course quizes are on line and available.  If you want to practice your skills try the pre-course quizzes for class "C" and "B" drivers licenses.  The quizes are located on this wed site.  If you need help, getting started, contact "Mac" for training.

Two safety issues that need immediate attention are related to police and public works housing conditions.  The City manager is aware of these needs.  The city owns a "field office" mobile trailer.  The trailer is being inspected for remodeling. The City Manager has directed members of the safety team to develop a plan that could make more washrooms, de-contamination showers and locker rooms for DPW and PD for temporary and emergency use. That project was completed.  The project is now with Scott Alman, DPW.
