Subject: Preterit and imperfect ideas

Here are my three favorites:

Use Caddyshack's famous BabyRuth in the pool scene to give you a framework
of what was happening (imperfect) and what events occurred as a result
(generally preterit).  After showing the clip, ask students to tell you what
happened, and jot down their responses on the board.  As you do so, write
the "imperfect" actions in one column, and the "preterit" actions in
another.  Then you have some highly interesting meat to discuss with ample
examples.
