Lessons 139-144 in green typing book, page 334f.
You are to do the jobs in Lessons 139 - 144 in the green typing book. Create folder PSS. Save each job as Job 1, 2, 3, etc.
Read page 334 for instructions. Create a letterhead for your company. The name and address is below:

Job 1-- Open Letterhead, resave as Job1. Create a form letter or type letter to person 1; copy letter and change name, address, and salutation for second letter. Remember the date should come a DS below the letterhead. QS after the data and after Sincerely. The writer's name is Ms. Katelynn Eastwick, Western Branch Manager (p. 334). After her name and title remember to DS and put your reference initials in lower case. Save as Job1letter, Job1 data, and Job1merged
Job 2--Create an information sheet. Make this attractive. Put a border around. Remember to create a page border. Choose format, borders and shading. Choose page. Go to the drop down beside of art and choose artwork for border. Save as Job2
Job 3 Create a mailmerge letter or create letter, copy, and change the name for second letter. Place on letterhead. Merge the two and print. This is a two page letter. Remember that a two page letter has a heading on the second page. The heading includes the person’s name, Page 2, and the current date
Job 4 Create an attractive flyer to post on bulletin board. Again add a border and clip art to make it attractive.
Job 5 is a letter. Address it to Lynelle Montgomery. Her business card is at the bottom of page 334.
Job 6 is a fax. Choose file new. Click on the template that has faxes. Choose any style fax and type the fax in Job 6.
Job 7 Type the information in a table.
Job 8 Type the top portion of this order in Word. Create the table in Excel and paste into Word.
Job 9 Create database. Fields are First, Last, HomeStreet, HomeCity, HomeZip, HomePhone, WorkStreet, WorkCity, WorkState, WorkPhone. For phone # remember to use input mask.

Create this report. DS a report. SS the table within the report. Also SS numbered items with a DS between.
Job 11 Type the reference page to the report as Job 11. On line 2”Center and type REFERENCES in all caps. QS after references. SS references with a DS between. References use hanging indent—this means that the second line is indented five space.
Type the references SS with a DS between. Make them a hanging indent.
Job 12 Create this letter to Stan Dozier. His information is in Job 9.
Job 13 Create the fax shown.
Job 14 Create the letter and send to Lindon York in Job 9

*Report 17--Page 260--Report with a long quote. DS report, SS quote and indent five spaces from left margin, l blank line above and below quote.
*Report 18--Page 263--Report with quote and Works Cited page. DS report, SS quote and indent 5 spaces from left. Works Cited on separate page. SS footnotes with a DS between, use hanging indent so that second line will be indented five.
*Report 19--Type agenda. 2 inch top margin. DS agenda.
*Report 20--Report 20 with quote and Works Cited. Don't forget page numbers--Do not include on first page
*Report 21--Report with footnotes--to type footnotes, choose Insert, Reference, Choose footnote--the computer will put the superscript number and draw the line and take you to the bottom of the page to insert the footnote.
*Report 22--Leftbound report--Set left margin at 1.5"--we make the left margin wider so that this report can be placed in a binder. This is a business report--use 2 inch top margin. QS after the title. Type this report with endnotes.
Report 23--Report 23--Leftbound 1.5" left margin, 2" top margin, QS after title, type footnotes.
*Lesson 78--Type Title page, Table of Contents, and Outline--Print a copy and place in your folder.
*In Glencoe, complete 73C, 75B & D, 76B, 77B, and 79B.

1)Key resume page 324 in green/purple book for Teresa Teasdale. Next key your own resume. Print and place in your folder.
2)Page 210 in blue book. You are going to create your own personal letterhead. Key the letters # 23 and 24 on pages 210 and 211. Print one of the letters of application and place in your folder.
3)Complete portfolio activity on page 212. Go to ncpress.com, click on newspapers online; go to a city of your choosing and see if you can find a job posted. Key a letter of application. Print
4)Compose at the keyboard--Once you go for a job, you will have to answer questions. Using complete sentences, type the answers to the following questions. Email your responses to me at cbarton@transylvania.k12.nc.us

b. Give three reasons our firm should hire you.
c. Do your grades accurately reflect your ability. Explain why or why not.
