Ash is an ambitious 10 year old with an aspiration to become a Pokemon master and has not only the want to be the best, but also a love for his pokemon. In the first episode, he winds up being late to meet Professor Oak and receive his first pokemon, and finds that Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle are all taken! Oak then gives him an usual pokemon called Pikachu. Ash soon finds out all about Pikachu's "electric" personality, and finds himself more being owned by the stubborn little pokemon than owning him. After failed attempts to catch more pokemon, Ash soon finds himself chased by a flock of Spearows, which badly injure Pikachu. Ash finds Misty, and takes her bike to get Pikachu to a pokemon hospital. The flock chases, and the bike is destroyed. Luckily, Ash gets Pikachu to the hospital fine, and the two bond and become eternal friends in the
land of Pokemon.
Misty is seemingly a brat, but on the inside she is really a good girl. She is nice to everyone, except Ash. She always is bothering him about her bike, and what he's going to do to replace it. She loves pokemon, and travelling with Ash and Brock is really what she enjoys doing. Her favorite type of pokemon are water, and naturally, she most often uses a Starmie to fight. In the game she
is the holder of the WaterBadge.
Brock is the older, testosterone-inflated male of the travelling trio. Every chance to see a woman is taken up, and every chance to flirt is already done. Of course, the females are mostly bimbos, excluding Misty, and don't take it to heart, if they even understand it. Brock's eyes never seem to open, and it just makes you wonder how he sees these women, of course by the way the ones look that he falls in love with, this is evident. =) Brock prefers rock and fire pokemon (Get it, Brock, rock?
Kinda like Misty and water). In the game he has the, get this, BoulderBadge.
Pikachu is definately the most popular and lovable pokemon. His cuteness has captures the love of millions of watchers and players. He is sort of a weak pokemon in the game to start out, but becomes a strong fighter. In the cartoon, he kicks butt, and tags along outside of his pokeball
Gary is the self-centered opponent to Ash. He seems to think he's the best Pokemon trainer in the world, and so does his little herd of cheerleaders that seem to cheer him on everywhere. Although he is very self-centered, he is a good trainer. But, he doesn't seem to really enjoy pokemon, more just the winning and competition.
Jessie/Musash & James/Kojiro
Jesse and James are just two little kids stuck in a pre-teens body. They always wind up loosing in the end, as is expected of every bad guy in the TV Wonderland(tm). Their goal, being in Team Rocket, is to steal precious and rare pokemon, especially the powerful pikachu of Ash. Everytime they appear in the show they say their famous poem... "Prepare for trouble, Make it double. To protect the world from devestation, To unite all peoples within our nation. To denounce the evils of truth and love, To extend our reach to the stars above. Jesse, James. Team Rocket blast off at the speed of light! Surrender now, or prepare to fight."
"Meowth thats right" is the first line after Jesse and James little poem. Meowth is sort of like Pikachu in that he does not stay in a pokeball. However, meowth is a very rare pokemon who can actually speak english (or japanese or whatever). At least Team Rocket caught one good pokemon. Meowth is really the brains of the Team Rocket Triple, as he comes up with most of the plans, and
scratches Jesse and James into submission.
Nurse Joy and all of her sisters with the same name and same look are found in nearly every town in the land of Pokemon. She works at the Pokecenter healing hurt pokemon.
Proffessor Oak/Proffessor Okido
Professor Oak is the person to call when you need pokemon info. In younger age he was a trainer just like most others. But now in his old age, he studies pokemon, and created the pokedex for trainers to learn info on pokemon and write info about when you come across new
pokemon. He gave Ash Pikachu.
Officer Jenny/Officer Junsa
Officer Jenny is your average ditzy female often found in watered-down Japanese Anime like Pokemon. She is in most towns and just does her thing, like try to stop Team Rocket and train her Growliths.
Ash's Mom/Satoshi's Mom
Ash's mom is just your mother figure, who wont stop asking Ash if he has clean underwear and to be safe,
Ash in the main character in the Pokemon TV series. Ash is 10 years old. Ash is wild and energetic. His goal is to become the world's greatest Pokémon trainer and earn the title of "Pokémon Master".
Ash is given Pikachu in the first TV show by Professor Oak. The television series follows Ash around in his quest to become the greatest Pokemon Trainer.
Ash sometimes isn't the brightest kid you'll ever meet, but he learns from his mistakes, and never lets life get him down.
Pikachu and Ash are best buddies.
What's a Pikachu?
Pikachu (peek-ah-choo) is easily the most popular of all the Pokemon. Pikachu is as recognizable in Japan as Mickey Mouse ... and has been seen in movies, on a TV show, as dolls, keychains, phones, and yes .. even underwear.
On the TV show, Pikachu was originally given to Ash by Professor Oak (this is on Episode 1 ...available at our bookstore ;) Pikachu is one of the main characters of the Pokémon TV series and is also Ash's best friend and Pokémon. Pikachu is an adorable electric-mouse Pokémon, who loyally defends his friends Ash, Misty, and Brock and stands up for all Pokémon-kind. Like most Pokémon, Pikachu communicates by repeating his name over and over with his cute, baby-like voice. Pikachu is constantly pursued by the evil Team Rocket.
Kids love Pikachu!
Misty, the youngest of the sensational sisters, is the trainer from the Cerulean City Gym. When Ash first got Pikachu, he ran into some troubles. A flock of Spearows were chasing him and Pikachu. He jumped into a waterfall, but was okay. He was "fished" out by Misty who was fishing. The Spearows were gaining on him, so he took her bike, promising that he'll return it later. When Misty did find him, her bike was melted by Pikachu's powerful thunder shock. She vow to follow him around until he repays for the bike. To this day, she is still walking side-by-side with him into the Pokemon League. I think that Misty likes Ash (many would say so), but she doesn't like to show or confess her love for him. After the Pokemon League was over, Brock leaves them to stay with the beautiful Professor Ivy, and they must continue on with only the two of them and Pikachu. I wonder if anything might happen between them. Don't you?
Brock, a trainer from Pewter Gym, is Ash's other good friend. He has, I believe, 10 brothers and sisters at home. He had to take care of them, so he couldn't travel around. His father, Flint, left the home long ago for his Pokemon journey, but never came back. Brock's mother couldn't take it anymore, and I think she either died or ran away. In one of the episode, where Ash's arrives at Pewter Gym, Brock's father showed up again, but this time to take his responibility as a father, and let Brock have a little break. Brock only dreams of being a great Pokemon Breeder. Brock is extremely girl-crazy, and acts pretty weird where he sees one or is around one, espcailly Nurse Joy. But later on, after the Pokemon League was over, they continued with their journey, and met Professor Ivy, a beautiful professor (she looks like she's stoned or drunk *_*). Brock decides to stay to help her with her house, and to learn more about Pokemon. Brock finally found someone that likes him in return, and not rejected.
Who's Team Rocket?
Team Rocket is an international Pokémon crime syndicate, of which the two most famous (and inept) members are THE Team Rocket, Jessie and James. They're always accompanied by Meowth, the only pokemon who speaks a human language.
Together with their own pokemon (Ekans and Koffing, who later evolve into Weezing and Arbok) they travel around stealing pokemon. At least, that's what they try to do...they never manage to succeed.
It seems that no matter what ingenious plan they concoct, Ash, Misty, Brock, and Pikachu are always showing up and thwarting their schemes. Team Rocket wants a Pikachu, and not just any Pikachu will do. They want Ash's Pikachu and have tried to capture him on several occasions. They never manage to accomplish anything but being "blasted off" in the end of nearly every episode. At times they seem to be the most brilliant of criminal minds, yet they're plans always backfire. Team Rocket is most known for their "motto," which always proceeds a battle with them:
Jessie: "Prepare for trouble..."
James: "And make it double..."
Jessie: "To protect the world from devastation..."
James: "To unite all peoples within our nation..."
Jessie: "To denounce the evils of truth and love..."
James: "To extend our reach to the stars above..."
Jessie: "Team Rocket, blast off at the speed of light..."
James: "Surrender now, or prepare to fight..."
Meowth: "Meowth, that's right!"
Right before they begin their master plans, Team Rocket always says their motto. Not much is know about each of the member's pasts. We know that James comes from a wealthy family and that his parents want him to marry some girl named Jessibell who looks identical to Jessie. We don't know anything about Jessie's past. We know that Meowth was at one time the Boss's pokemon, and that Jessie and James aren't his trainers. And that's all we know... every criminal has his or her secrets, right?
Who's Professor Oak?
Professor Oak is a Pokemon Professor that gives trainers their first Pokemon. He will also give them a Pokedex. A Pokedex tells trainers about Pokemon they see. Professor Oak helps trainers as they travel to become Pokemon masters. - J. McDonald
In the cartoon, Professor Oak is a combination of a person with high intelligence, and a buffoon. He seems to be becoming more & more a minor character as the show goes on.
Gary Oak, from the town of Pallet, is Professor Oak's grandson. He is one of the four to leave town to be a Pokemon trainer, or in his words, a Pokemon Master. Gary and Ash don't get along very well, and is always competing for who is the best. They often run into each other on their Pokemon journey, and ends up in an argument or a fight. I must say, Gary thinks he is too cool with those weird cheerleaders always following him around, and he is definitely not one of my favorite characters. He likes to brag about how many Pokemon he has captured, and who he is, grandson of the great Professor Oak. Gary earns more badges than Ash, 10 to be exact, and also ends up in the Pokemon League, but sad to say, he lost his fourth battle before Ash lost his. What a loser!*_^
Who's Officer Jenny?
Officer Jenny, is a police officer who arrests criminals. She trains with the police Growlithes. Each Officer Jenny looks like the same, they are all from one family. It can get complicated sometimes. The only one that I know that can tell them apart is, apparently Brock.
Who's Nurse Joy?
Nurse Joy, is the nurse of every Pokemon Centre, a hospital for Pokemon. Chansey, great nurses, helps her with the Centre. Each Nurse Joy also looks identical, all from one family as well. Brock seems to love Nurse Joy, but he stays with Professor Ivy.
