Plano Middle School Language Arts and Reading
The Sixth Grade Language Arts and Reading Classes are challenging courses integrating Reading, Writing, Grammar, and Spelling.  Because of the many areas covered, the courses are taught during two class periods each day.

Students work to increase their reading abilities through the study of selections taken from famous fiction and nonfiction books.  Classic literature is introduced through drama readings taken from reading skill magazines.

Grammar, Spelling, and Essay Writing make up the Language Arts course.  In addition to these, poetry writing and demonstration speeches provide opportunities for creative growth.

Students can expect assignments each day and are expected to bring materials for all subjects to class every day.  Completing assignments on time is a must, and behavior conducive to learning is assumed and expected.
