englishclasslevine Miss Levine
Suncrest Middle School English/Spanish Intern
Hello and welcome to my class web page!  My name is Melissa Levine, and I am an intern at Suncrest Middle School in Morgantown, WV.  This is my sixth year at West Virginia University.  In May I will receive a Master of Arts in Education and Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish.
Since 1997 I have been a part of Suncrest Middle, first as a tutor, then as a participant, and finally now as an intern.  Each classification has merited increasing responsibilities and challenges which I have enjoyed.

From August 30 until December 15 I will be teaching Mr. Phillip Kisner's seventh grade English class. Some units that I plan to implement include the following: the novels Where the Red Fern Grows and A Day No Pigs Will Die, the theme of survival, the writing process, the incorporation of grammar into literature and writing, Greek mythology, and technology specifically the creations of a Hyperstudio project and Power Point. Descriptions of various class activities and projects will be posted for students and parents to refer to as needed. In addition, extra practice of concepts or ideas will be available through class links attached to this site.

These units will conclude shortly before Christmas break. In January I will return to Suncrest Middle to complete contracted hours. Some of my responsibilities will include subbing for teachers that seek release time for areas of professional development and aiding in the organization and implementation of multicultural week. This week will include tolerance lessons, a fashion show, and a sampling of various ethnic foods provided by community restaurants.

Having such wonderful experiences at Suncrest Middle in the past, I am looking forward to another great year!  Please feel free to email me with any comments or questions.
